Why you use ‘better beauty’ products and what’s the most important factor for you when buying?
For me, the definition of beauty is raw, natural and healthy. I’m a big believer that what we put on and into our bodies can have an impact on our overall health.
When buying beauty products cruelty free is my number one! Natural ingredients that are actually doing something positive for my skin is also important, along with eco-friendly packaging when possible.
What are your go-to brands and products?
RMS Beauty, Ere Perez and Eye of Horus have some of my favourite makeup products. RMS Beauty concealer and powder is part of my everyday makeup routine, Ere Perez has amazing bronzers and highlighters and Eye of Horus make the most stunning eyeshadows!
What are 3 things anyone starting out using ‘better beauty’ products should know?
1. Take your time transitioning to “better beauty” – it can be overwhelming and there are a lot of products on the market now in green beauty.
2. Start with an area of your beauty routine that you use most often and can have the biggest impact on your health – skincare can be a good place to start.
3. Choose products that you are comfortable with and set your own standards – there are some influencers or followers in “better beauty” who are super strict with ingredients and products. Don’t let anyone make you feel bad for products that you choose to use/not use. It’s your body.
What does your typical beauty routine look like?
Glow, glow and more glow! I love using oils at night and makeup products that nourish my skin whilst giving me a healthy glow during the day.
Lipstick, Gloss, Stain or Balm? Which one is your favourite?
Balm during the day, lipstick for night.
What can’t you live without?
Highlighter & my dog Bella!
Any tips of the trade you’d like to share with our beauties?
Don’t hide behind makeup, use it to enhance your natural beauty and never compare yourself to anyone else. Oh, and don’t over-tweeze your eyebrows! J
